Insertion Code

In PDB files the insertion code is used sometimes in sequence numbering.

e.g. in pdb file 1h4w residues 122 and 122A.

Jmol uses 122^A as the notation of insertion codes to distinguish from the Rasmol command 122A, which would select residue 122 of chain A.
